It's a cats life

New Toy
Mood:  incredulous
The people gave me my own piece of furniture. It's a scratching post that goes most of the way to the ceiling. It's big enough that several cats could fit on it at the same time, but I'm the only cat here. I wonder what is going on... the dog looks suddenly happy all the time. But the new litter box is much roomier than the old one.

Two hours later
Mood:  mischievious
It's going better than I expected! I'd just finished picking the foam from my claws when the dog woke up and started to chase me. Things got knocked over, other things got broken, and I wound up on the curio shelf with the dog barking under me... and she was standing right in the middle of the ruined cushion when the people came down to see what the problem was. She's in the crate now, and I got special cuddles and treats because "oh honey, look, she's so scared, YOUR DOG could have hurt her!" and we all know it's only one small step from being "YOUR DOG" to "Remember that dog we used to have?"

I'm going to go look smug at the hamster.

half past midnight
Mood:  lucky
They finally left the computer on. Now is when I can plot my revenge against the dog. She already got kicked out of the bedroom - everyone always blames the dog for various odors. Now I can stop nibbling the green onion tops. Time for random destruction in the living room. Hello sofa cushions! Digging out the stuffing should look sufficiently doggish. I'll scatter some of it around her as she sleeps, then walk on the humans till they wake up to let me out. Maybe yowling would work better, last months flight lesson shouldn't be repeated soon.
